Here are a few favorites from Mila and Richard’s destination wedding at the Majestic Colonial (and Majestic Elegance) this past January in the Dominican Republic. A lot of weddings happen at those side-by-side resorts – I believe 2 or 3 a day, or maybe even more. But with a little patience and the right angles, it can look and feel as special as anywhere. Mila and Richard had a big group of over 50 guests with them, and I was with them almost all week. On to the fun…
First came the flaming shots, then the late night beach party.
Mila had too many friends to all be in the “official” bridal party, so the “extended bridal party” got their own photo shoot one evening before the wedding.
The wedding day begins…
Fully laughing and fully crying, at the same time.
There was a small wading pool nearby the reception, and it didn’t take long before everyone ended up soaked.
The day before we left, we ventured off-resort to a beautiful public beach, feasted on fresh fried fish and lobster, built worlds out of sand, and soaked up the last of the sun.
