Katherine & Jamie at the University of Waterloo’s University Club and Waterloo Inn – Waterloo Wedding

Katherine and Jamie’s wedding had a bunch of unique and interesting features that will stand out among my other weddings this season. Not only were they comfortable with seeing each other before the ceremony; they got ready in the same room at the same time and walked arm in arm down the aisle together. Instead of a wedding cake they had a giant gingerbread cookie made with an antique wooden cookie mold. I suppose this is the natural choice when your family owns a cookie factory. During the speeches, they shared a toast out of a “Nuernberg Wedding Cup” or “German Wedding Cup”. An interesting little silver cup with a swinging part that allows two people to drink out of it at the same time. The weather was interesting too – the sun was out for the family photos until the instant I said “we’re all done” then it started to rain sending everyone scattering. And a personal favorite moment was when Bowie’s “Magic Dance” from Labyrinth came on the playlist. That doesn’t get enough airtime at weddings in my opinion. A warm and loving couple and a wonderful day!
